Biography
Mr. Prosser has actively owned, operated and / or managed for others over $750m of real estate during his career. A military veteran having spent 5 years in special operations and 4 years in intelligence, Mr. Prosser acquired his first real estate investment in 1998 while attending college. Upon graduating, he came to New York City to work as an investment banker for Bear Stearns & Co. While working on Wall Street, Mr. Prosser continued to build his real estate investment portfolio, ultimately personally owning and operating 20 properties including multifamily residential, apartment buildings, warehouses, and hotels.
Mr. Prosser returned to school in 2003 and upon completing his master's degree, he was hired as the director of real assets by Gruss & Co, the private holding company of a Manhattan high net worth family. While there, he oversaw the acquisition and/or management of Class A office space in Washington DC, residential apartment buildings in New York City, a residential development in the Bahamas, and approximately 4,000 acres of timberland in New Hampshire and Vermont. A second responsibility of this position was to work with the firm's hedge funds analyzing, evaluating and advising the funds on entrance into or exit from positions in publicly traded real estate companies.
After several successful years at Gruss, Mr. Prosser accepted the position of fund manager for the Conlon Real Estate Opportunity Fund (subsidiary of Conlon & Co). Mr. Prosser oversaw and operated all fund investments and was responsible for achieving several key value-add propositions including successfully re-zoning two downtown Chicago development sites (performing environmental remediation on one), receiving subdivision approval and performing horizontal infrastructure development for two commercial subdivisions in North Carolina anchored by a Super Wal-Mart, re-positioning a downtown office building into a master-leased student housing facility, and redeveloping/re-tenanting a historically significant apartment complex in Palm Beach, Florida.
In 2009, Mr. Prosser formed RSP Management to leverage his experience as a real estate operator and provide solutions to 3rd party real estate owners who found themselves in jeopardy as the recession created distress within the market.
Leaving his position as the real estate opportunity fund manager in 2010 to focus on the RSP Companies, Mr. Prosser built off of his original investment platform and expanded the business to permit investment from outside capital.
Mr. Prosser received his Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Master's Degree in Real Estate Finance from New York University. He has also taken real estate related coursework at Harvard University, Cornell University and the University of Georgia and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
