Bio

Rafael is a real estate professional with over 25+ years of experience developing highly profitable, award-winning, complex urban projects, including office, mixed-use, residential, retail, and educational properties. These projects comprise over 8 million square feet with an estimated value of more than $6 billion. His role in managing development projects at Riverside requires leading design teams, obtaining entitlements, managing the leasing team, supervising construction managers, and providing asset management for the institutional assets through stabilization. Prior to joining Riverside, Rafael was with The John Buck Company for 20 years where he was Principal and the Director of Development Services. From 2008 until 2013, Rafael also served as member of the faculty at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he taught a course in Real Estate Development. Rafael received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame and graduated from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with an MBA degree.
