Bio
Kate Khazin leads investor relations and is responsible for scaling internal processes to fuel Origin’s explosive growth. Kate joined Origin in 2021 after a tenure at Ventas, a S&P 500 company and a leading healthcare REIT. At Ventas Kate was responsible for business transformation and M&A integration and was a key player in the divestiture of Care Capital Partners as a standalone publicly-traded REIT in 2015. While at Ventas she led the transformation and scaling of FP&A, corporate risk, legal, accounting, treasury, and property management functions. Prior to Ventas, Kate served as a manager of the LEAN consulting group at Discover Financial Services. In this role she led cross-functional project teams responsible for reorganization of legacy business functions within the firm.
Kate's true passion (outside of work) is investing and advising early-stage startups. Kate is a mentor at the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship, a startup incubator at the University of Chicago, and serves on the board of BANC, a University of Chicago Booth School of Business nonprofit consulting organization.
Kate earned her B.S. degree with honors in Electrical Engineering from Izhevsk Technical State University in Russia, and received her MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
