Julia Tcherkassova

Julia Tcherkassova joined Prima Capital Advisors as the firm's Chief Financial Officer in 2012. At Prima, Julia is principally responsible for all client reporting, including the preparation of the firm's quarterly financial statements, consultant questionnaires, and performance reporting. Julia oversees Prima's loan/asset surveillance function and because of her extensive experience in the mortgage and real estate markets, Julia is a key resource in the firm's investment underwriting process. Prior to joining Prima, Julia spent two years at Barclays as a Director and lead strategist in the firm's CMBS business. Institutional Investor ranked Julia as one of the sector's top three analysts and in her role at Barclays Julia was a prolific publisher, including her daily "Instant Insights" and monthly "Credit Handbook." Julia also served as a co-editor of the quarterly produced by CREFC, the CMBS industry's leading trade association. Prior to joining Barclays, Julia worked at Merrill Lynch (Bank of America) for eight years as a member of the firm's real estate research team. In addition to her more traditional research functions, Julia developed stochastic multi-variable models to handle complex client inquiries regarding CMBS bonds. Julia holds degrees from the Moscow Finance Academy (Economist with a Major in Finance and Credit and minor in Mathematics) and the Moscow State Conservatoire (piano and musical theory), and earned her MBA from the Harvard Business School.
