Job Functions: Executive, Acquisitions & Dispositions, Asset Management

Third-generation real estate developer Jonathan Holtzman is recognized nationally for his understanding of consumers and brand creation skills, that has translated into the design, development and management of some of the most admired apartment and mixed-use communities in North America. Holtzman’s grandfather Joseph, who founded Joseph Holtzman Homes nearly 100 years ago, seeded Jonathan’s passion for challenging and advancing conventional real estate wisdom. Joining then-Holtzman & Silverman in 1978 after attending Michigan State University in Economics and Management, Holtzman led Michigan-based Village Green’s growth as one of the nation’s leading, customer-centric apartment brands. As co-chairman of the company beginning in the early 1980s, Holtzman partnered with institutional clients and high net worth individuals to acquire apartment communities throughout the Midwest and develop the company’s core service and operational principles, including its proprietary training program—Village Green University. Over the course of Holtzman’s oversight, the company had built, developed and acquired more than 25,000 apartments and operated more than 40,000. Holtzman’s many philanthropic activities include his Holtzman Wildlife Foundation. One of the foundation’s global projects is focused on protecting the Red Panda, an endangered species native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China.
