Bio
Robert D. Sellingsloh, President of Wulfe & Co., has over 39 years of experience in commercial retail real estate in Houston. He started his real estate career in 1980 with Henry S. Miller Company and joined Wulfe & Co. in 1985 as one of the firm's original members. Throughout his career, Bob has specialized in the development and leasing of major shopping centers in the Houston area. He began his career as a project leasing specialist for institutional owners of retail centers. During the mid-1980s and early 1990s, Bob was instrumental in creating three major shopping centers for owners by securing the retail anchors for Meyer Park Center, Pinecroft Center and Deerbrook MarketPlace, all of which continue to be successful shopping centers today. In the mid-1990s, Bob's career shifted to development with Wulfe & Co.'s purchase and redevelopment of Meyerland Plaza. This 900,000 square foot center has received numerous awards including two Legacy Awards for "Deals that Made a Difference" in 1995 and 1996. In the early-2000s, Bob was an essential component of Wulfe & Co.'s development of Gulfgate Center, a 600,000 square foot center. The project has been recognized nationally as model for inner city development making a positive impact on the surrounding area and received ULI's 2012 Development of Distinction Award and two 2003 Landmark Awards as the "Best Commercial Real Estate Rehabilitation/Renovation Project" and the "Best Impact on the Community Project." Bob played an integral part in the development of BLVD Place, a 392,000 square foot mixed-use project in Houston's Uptown District which earned the Houston Business Journal's 2015 Landmark Award for Mixed-Use development. BLVD Place includes upscale retail and restaurant space, office space, along with high-rise residences. In addition, Bob is involved in the development of East Shore Place, a mixed-use project in The Woodlands, TX. Overall, Bob has been instrumental in the development and creation of over 2.5 million square feet of retail projects throughout his career. His expertise includes creating development concepts for each project, financial analysis, negotiating tenant leases, arranging financing and assembling and managing development teams which include project managers, architects, engineers and general contractors. In addition to his leadership role at Wulfe & Co., Bob served as Chair of the Midtown Redevelopment Authority for 16 years and is currently serving as a consultant to Midtown. With an annual budget of $30 million, Midtown uses a portion of the property taxes generated within the district to make capital improvements, such as the development of parks, the replacement of streets, sidewalks and landscaping, and the upgrading of utilities to encourage private development. He is also a member of both the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute. Bob holds a BBA in Finance and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
