SANDHILLS STATE PARK + LEISURE ATTRACTIONS

Monahans Sandhills State Park, located less than 10 minutes down I-20, offers over 3,800 acres of dramatic sand dunes reaching up to 70 feet high. Billed as a “Texas-sized sandbox”, the dramatic, desert-like terrain is regularly filled with visitors doing activities such as sandboarding, hiking, horseback riding, and nature exploration, making it a key contributor to the region’s tourism and economy. The Property is also surrounded by a variety of cultural and recreational attractions. Next door, the Rattlesnake Bomber Base Museum preserves World War II history, honoring the Pyote Army Airfield where thousands of bomber crews trained and where the famed Enola Gay was once housed.
