Timothy A. Peterson

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER & CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER

Timothy A. Peterson is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Investment Officer of The Altman Companies. He is responsible for managing the overall operations of the company’s development, construction and manage-ment subsidiaries, as well as all of the company’s equity and debt relationships.

Tim has over 30 years of real estate experience and over 25 years of multifamily experience. Previously, he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of a real estate investment trust (REIT) that developed, acquired, managed and leased industrial and office properties in the Eastern United States. Prior to that, he was the Executive Vice President of Post Properties, Inc., where he had overall responsibility in the financial area. Tim was integral to Post’s Initial Public Offering in July 1993, with responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of the accountants, attorneys, and investment bankers involved in completing the transaction.

Tim serves on the board of directors and chairs the audit committee for Preferred Apartment Communities (NYSE:APTS), a role he has had since the company completed its IPO in 2011.

Tim, a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, received his undergraduate degree in Accounting and his MBA in Finance from the University of Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
