As JMG Realty's corporate financial officer, Thomas H. Staten oversees corporate accounting and partnership accounting of the company's controlled properties. He also is involved in risk management and all aspects of acquisitions, sales, financing and entity creation. Thom began his career in property management in 1983. Before joining The Hudson Group in 1988, which later merged with Jackson Management Group to form JMG Realty, Inc., he was Vice President/Controller for a company managing commercial and multi-family property in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. The opportunities provided by working with a wide range of clients – including individuals, pension funds, financial institutions and insurance companies – has contributed to his broad range of experience. Thom is a 1994 cum laude graduate of South Texas College of Law, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree while working full time. He graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and is a licensed CPA in Texas.
