Bio

Specializing in Retail and Urban High Street leasing, Stephen C. Sjurset is the Senior Vice President of CBRE Global Retail Brokerage.

Since joining the firm in 2006, Mr. Sjurset has leased over 850,000 square feet of retail space, valued at $2.15 Billion.

Past deals include flagship locations for Ralph Lauren, Lao Feng Xiang, Breguet and Omega along Fifth Avenue; and Burberry, Coach, Reed Krakoff and Qela on Madison Avenue.  Other notable transactions include representing Tory Burch in her recent SoHo flagship acquisitions and H&M in securing a Landmarked townhouse on Spring Street for their first United States location for COS.

Over the past year, Mr. Sjurset orchestrated the acquisition of a full city block mixed-use commercial development along the Brooklyn Waterfront in addition to securing an entire building for Urban Outfitters' Williamsburg Flagship. Stephen has also worked exclusively for various Government owned brands for their U.S. rollouts.

On behalf of his Landlord clients, Mr. Sjurset has repositioned retail space for Lincoln Center, Blackstone, The Hearst Corporation, Conde Nast and Goldman Sachs' new headquarters building downtown.

In 2011, Mr. Sjurset brokered the fifth largest retail transaction in Manhattan, expanding a regional supermarket tenfold to better serve the rapidly growing downtown community.  The deal was later recognized by the Real Estate Board of New York as the Retail Deal Which Most Significantly Benefits the Manhattan Retail Market.  This award is one of the two most distinguished awards in the industry and highlights the most inventive and noteworthy New York City retail deals of the past year.

A long time resident of New York City, Mr. Sjurset has an intimate knowledge of the Manhattan retail scene.  His understanding of this unique marketplace allows his clients to focus on their business, while he focuses on their real estate needs.
