Shawna is Executive Assistant to Michael T. Fay, Chairman of the U.S. Capital Markets Executive Committee, and Principal, Managing Director of Avison Young's Miami office. She has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience and has been instrumental in the closing of over $6 billion in transactions over the course of her career. Shawna is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the Miami office's Capital Markets Group, its associates and their business. She also oversees the administration for the Asset Resolution Team, a national Avison Young Affinity Group focused on providing multiple services to special servicers and lenders throughout the country, as well as the eastern region of Avison Young's Automotive Properties Affinity Group. She is also a licensed Florida real estate salesperson.

Throughout her career, Shawna has been the recipient of several awards including the Global Award of Excellence for being the Most Valuable Assistant at Avison Young, as well as the Global Innovation Award for Idea, related to her innovative, client-focused work on the Asset Resolution Team at her previous firm.

Prior to her real estate career, Shawna was a top staffing and recruiting consultant. Outside of the office, Shawna has donated her time to many local, charitable organizations such as Informed Families, the Miami Children's Museum, Camillus House, and Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, and is the Branch Director for the International Association of Administrative Professionals' Gold Coast region.
