Bio

Sharon Karaffa is the Vice Chairman, Co-Head of Production of Newmark's Multifamily Capital Markets division. She is responsible for driving revenue through the integration of Debt and Structured Finance and Investment Sales, with a focus on business development, strategic initiatives, marketing, and reporting and analytics.

 

Previously, Ms. Karaffa was the Director of Priority Borrower Relationships and Head of Structured Transactions for Fannie Mae Multifamily. In this capacity, she was responsible for managing borrower relationships, leading the structured transactions product and team, and setting the strategic direction for borrower relationships and the structured transactions products and business. Earlier in her career at Fannie Mae, Ms. Karaffa led the Financial Planning & Analysis division, managed the acquisition of seasoned loan portfolios, and managed various lender relationships.

 

Ms. Karaffa currently co-chairs the MBA's Commercial Real Estate Future Leaders Alumni Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance to End Homelessness, a nonpartisan organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness in the United States.

 

Education

Ms. Karaffa received a B.S. in Finance from the Smeal College of Business Administration at the Pennsylvania State University.
