Bio

Sean is a Senior Vice President in the Data Center Solutions group. He has over 17 years of consulting and brokerage experience and has focused on the data center industry throughout his career. Sean is a distinguished successful program manager of large data center acquisition projects and has broad range of data center experience and expertise including site selection, due diligence, leasing, and capital markets projects.  

Over the last three years, Sean has completed approximately 50 MW of colocation transactions across projects ranging from deploying one rack in multiple markets to 10 MW Build-To-Suit projects. Clients have included Symantec, Adobe, Visa, Digital Realty Trust, Charles Schwab, Nvidia, Internap, Comcast, Microsoft and various data center developers and private equity firms.  

In 2010, Sean partnered with Bill Dougherty in establishing the leading data center team in the Western U.S. This team now includes five members and they are experts in negotiating acquisitions of data center facilities, technical infrastructure and operating rights, complex site selection projects, and have completed many of the most important data center projects in the industry.  

Additionally, Sean developed a detailed data center site selection methodology and tool for one of the nation’s largest technology companies. He worked closely with the client to develop an analysis framework that assessed locations across the nation on various factors including cost of power, availability of renewable energy, natural disaster risk, economic incentives, infrastructure and accessibility. More recently, Sean conducted buy-side due diligence on a data center portfolio (6 data centers) valued at approximately $750 million. Work included financial underwriting, market reviews, management of physical and environmental due diligence vendors and coordination of acquisition team weekly meetings.

Before joining CBRE, Sean held senior roles at Cushman & Wakefield and the real estate practices of Ernst & Young and Navigant Consulting.​
