Scott Read joined Newmark's Newport Beach office in May 1989 (formerly known as Grubb & Ellis Company). He specializes in representing private owners, corporations and financial institutions in the sale or lease of commercial properties located in Southern California. During his 30 year commercial real estate tenure, Mr. Read has been involved in the sale of over 250 acres of commercial land and the sale/lease of approximately 20 million square feet of commercial building area, with a total transaction value of approximately $2 billion.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Read has gained a level of expertise covering all facets of commercial real estate brokerage, including property sales and leasing, property development, land sale transactions, build-to-suit transactions, tenant representation, joint venture development and ground leases. Mr. Read also gained experience with commercial development through his work as a partner in a local development firm from mid 2007 through early 2009.
