Bio
Scott H. Miller is a senior managing director leading the Land and Development Services (LDS) Group's Midwest and East Coast practices. Mr. Miller helps clients to reposition owned, vacant or underutilized assets in order to drive value to the overall organization. His corporate real estate work includes highest & best use analysis, merchandizing residential and resort properties and creating thoughtful strategies around functionally obsolete or environmentally challenged assets. He handles assets ranging from dense inner-city locations of less than an acre, to large-scale parcels in excess of 50,000 acres
Mr. Miller has over 25 years of real estate experience in markets throughout North America. He has facilitated over $1.5 billion of real estate transactions. These transactions have spanned the major asset classes of residential, industrial, retail, multi-family and hospitality facilities. His clients include public/private institutions, private investors and Fortune 1000 firms such as General Motors, Whirlpool, GlaxoSmithKline, 3M, Pfizer, Seibu Railway and Motorola. Mr. Miller also has substantial asset and property management experience for industrial, office, retail and multi-family.
Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Mr. Miller was with Cohen Financial for eleven years. Most recently, he served as director of its Capital Markets unit. A portion of Mr. Miller's responsibilities included overseeing the $ 4 billion loan serving portfolio and managing the watch list/workout process. Prior to this, he was Project Director for the Asset Management group, responsible for co-leading the 5.5 million square foot property management division of Cohen Financial. Before this, he was an officer of VMS Realty Partners focused on plans of re-organization and restructuring.
Education and Affiliations
Scott holds an M.S. in real estate appraisal and investment theory and a B.S. in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association.
