The firm is a sole proprietorship consisting of senior fisheries biologist, Scott Cressey, and various subconsultants retained to assist with aquatic field studies. Mr. Cressey, a Certified Fisheries Professional, has 35 years of professional experience in freshwater and estuarine fisheries biology and water quality studies. Formerly a co-owner of a leading San Francisco Bay area biological consulting firm for 17 years, Mr. Cressey was his firm’s principal investigator and project manager for all aquatic projects. These projects include FERC licensing and water supply projects, resident and anadromous salmonid stream fisheries monitoring, instream flow need determinations, fish relocation for construction projects, stream habitat mapping, watershed management plans, stream restoration plans, lake and lagoon management plans, benthos and algae monitoring using the California Stream Bioassessment Procedure and SWAMP protocols, ecological risk assessments, and estuarine studies in San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta.

As a small business with low overhead, Cressey & Associates is able to offer clients the expertise of a fisheries professional with 35 years experience at a cost considerably lower than large firms. Our company goal is to provide clients with high quality, professional fisheries studies and reports at a reasonable cost. Cressey & Associates is registered with the State of California and Contra Costa County as a SBE. Specialties: Fisheries, benthic macroinvertebrate and algae bioassessment, lake management, limnology and water quality.
