Bio

Rob Lang helps guide Platinum’s acquisitions, development, value-add, and core strategies to support the company’s long-term nationwide growth. He also leads the company’s initiatives to expand its relationships with institutional investors and lenders to fund Platinum’s accelerating investment activity. Rob has over 25 years of real estate and investment experience. He previously served as Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Irvine Company. In his 18 years at Irvine Company, his responsibilities included developing and executing investment strategies, portfolio management, and establishing new investment relationships. Prior to serving as Deputy CIO, he led Irvine Company’s capital markets group with responsibility for corporate finance strategy, debt financing, interest rate hedging, rating agency and banking relationships, and corporate treasury. For seven years prior to joining Irvine, he was an investment banker at J.P. Morgan and Bank of America. Rob earned his master’s degree at Harvard University and bachelor’s degree at UC Berkeley. His work on pension fund asset management and funding strategies has been published by the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
