Pete Bethea is vice chairman of Newmark in the firm's San Diego, California, office, bringing with him more than 27 years of experience in the shopping center industry. Mr. Bethea leads the firm's shopping center practice for the Western Region, which includes California, Arizona, Idaho and Nevada.

One of the leading retail investment brokers in the Southwest, Mr. Bethea has successfully represented such diverse clients as DDR, Gerrity Group, Kimco, Principal Global Real Estate Advisors, RPAI and Weingarten. In recent years, he has been responsible for the sale of more than $4 billion in shopping centers.

Mr. Bethea is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and has participated on a number of the council's Idea Exchanges. He has also been a speaker for various industry-related organizations, including the San Diego chapter of the Appraisal Institute, and has been a panelist for the San Diego CCIM. Mr. Bethea is also actively involved with Catholic Charities.

Mr. Bethea received his bachelor's degree in business from Grand Canyon University in 1982.
