Neil Schimmel

Inspired by over three decades of work in multifamily, in 2010 Neil Schimmel established the IMG Los Angeles office to create a new kind of real estate investor group. IMG was born out of a belief that every property can be reimagined for good. Neil’s business philosophy is simple: when residents win, investors win.

Neil is highly specialized in the acquisition, management, redevelopment, and disposition of multifamily properties. He has completed over 500 separate real estate transactions totaling $4 billion dollars, which includes 40,000 units in 20 states.

Prior to founding IMG, Neil was a partner at Capitol Properties, a multifamily real estate investment and brokerage firm. He began his career at Kenneth Leventhal & Co. where he received his CPA and was responsible for the restructure and work out of troubled real estate assets throughout the U.S and Canada.

Neil received a B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting from CSU Northridge and is an Advisory Committee Member of the National Multifamily Housing Council.
