Nasir Alamgir

Nasir Alamgir is Barings' Head of Real Estate Debt Portfolio Management and Capital Markets, overseeing the portfolios of private real estate debt investments and real estate capital markets activities. Nasir's responsibilities include team leadership, portfolio management, investment strategy, capital markets, syndications and development of new investment funds and accounts. Nasir has worked in the industry since 1997. Prior to his current role, Nasir was the Head of Real Estate Capital Markets, responsible for all debt placement and syndications, including fund- and asset-level leverage. He is a member of the Global Real Estate Debt Investment Committee and the Global Debt Valuations Committee. Prior to joining the firm in 2016, Nasir was a Senior Vice President and Head of Capital Markets, Americas at Starwood Capital Group, where he was responsible for securing asset- and fund-level debt as well as covering interest rate and FX derivatives and hedging. Prior to Starwood, he held numerous leadership roles in originations, asset management, syndications and securitization at Commerzbank/Eurohypo and Bank of America. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University.
