Miles Cortez

Mr. Cortez has spent his career engineering creative financial solutions to complex problems for institutional clients. His background as a principal in both private equity and venture capital allows him to view the transactional landscape from the client perspective. Miles believes that there is always a structural solution to even the most challenging problems and prides himself on applying his experience and finesse to navigate a deal to that solution. Prior to F10, he co-founded Aventine Capital Partners where he financed and developed hotels and resort-residential real estate for client companies such as Fairmont Raffles, Viceroy Hotels, The Four Seasons and Rosewood Hotels and Resorts. He also architected the initial capital stack of Punch Bowl Social, a restaurant entertainment concept that has grown to 13 units nationwide. He served as in-house advisor to Aventine client company, Aimco (NYSE:AIV) focused on a strategic expansion of their multifamily platform. He's spent the last 15 years of this career focused exclusively on hospitality and real estate. Miles received his BA in Psychology (Statistics) from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and earned his MBA from The Anderson School of Business at UCLA with a focus on Finance. Mr. Cortez has also been a guest speaker at the Knapp International Venture Forum at UCLA and the HVS Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference (CHICOS). Miles returned to his roots in 2003 and again lives in Denver. He is happily married with children and secretly dreams of playing rhythm guitar in a cover band.
