Bio
Michael Lapointe is an executive managing director with Newmark, focusing on complex real estate and financing transactions including acquisitions, value-add repositioning, joint venture and development projects. Mr. Lapointe is also responsible for the financial, corporate and credit analysis for investment sales and capital markets for the Southeast group. Past transactions focus on retail, office, note sales, and hospitality. Mr. Lapointe has been involved in over $400 million in financing and brokerage transactions and was named among Real Estate Florida's 30 under 30.
At Newmark, Mr. Lapointe is involved day-to-day in the evaluation, execution and monitoring of client financing and investments across various real estate asset classes in primary and secondary Florida markets. The vast majority of his time is dedicated to sourcing, evaluating, conducting due diligence, negotiating, structuring and executing deals. Substantial time and effort is invested in ensuring client goals are met, spanning beyond the single transaction execution.
Mr. Lapointe holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute, is a actively involved with the community partnership for the homeless and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers as well as a ULI Young Leader. Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Lapointe was president of a boutique real estate investment services firm based in Miami.
In his free time, he is an avid musician, playing both bass and guitar for over 20 years. Outside of his business pursuits, Mr. Lapointe spends his time boating, golfing, skiing and is an avid supporter of local arts and music in Wynwood and greater Miami.

Mr. Lapointe holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Miami. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
