Bio
Michael Monahan joined CBRE (previously Insignia) in January 1999 and is a Vice Chairman in our New York Office, where he is a Co-Group Leader. His primary areas of expertise are in formulating corporate real estate strategy, leading corporate acquisition and disposition projects and agency representation.
Mr. Monahan's New York tenant representation experience includes major transactions for tenants such as: Allianz Global Investors; Stroock Stroock & Lavan; TD Ameritrade; UBS, Morgan Stanley and Arch Insurance. Mr. Monahan provides a hands-on strategic approach which results in significant financial savings over the lease term and greater long term flexibility for the clients he has represented over 25 years. Currently over 50% of all business Mr. Monahan is involved with originates from repeat clients and referral business.
Prior to joining CBRE Mr. Monahan was a Senior Director at Jones Lang Wootton before Jones Lang Wootton Mr. Monahan was a Vice President at Cushman & Wakefield from 1982 through 1990.
In addition to representing major financial, legal and corporate tenants on various complex leasing transactions, Mr. Monahan has represented several owners with the sale or refinancing of both commercial and residential properties. The aggregate value of these transactions approaches $2 billion.
Mr. Monahan has been the recipient of multiple Chairman's and Colbert Coldwell Awards, recognizing achievement at the highest level within the firm.
