Matthew Ziffer

Matthew Ziffer leads distressed residential whole loan trading and credit impaired securities trading. In addition, Mr. Ziffer is a member of the firm's Investment Steering Team, and manages the firm's loan servicing relationships, due diligence on vendors as well as its loan-level surveillance efforts. In that capacity, he is responsible for the acquisition, management and disposition of distressed loans and securities. Prior to joining the firm, he was Head of the Residential Non-Performing and Scratch & Dent Mortgage Trading Desk at Lehman Brothers. Previously, Mr. Ziffer was an Assistant Vice President in the asset-backed securities group of Deutsche Bank, focusing on the financing of various assets including non-performing residential mortgage loans. He began his career in the capital markets group of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. Mr. Ziffer received a B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park and was awarded a J.D. magna cum laude, from New York Law School, where he was a Law Review Editor.
