Matthew Bateman

As Chief Operating Officer of Westcore Properties, Matthew Bateman oversees asset management, leasing, property management, construction and insurance. Matthew has successfully led asset management for more than 100 unique investments representing 32+ million square feet in 400+ buildings throughout the U.S. He has also actively been involved in more than 200+ acquisitions and dispositions totaling over $5 billion. Before joining Westcore Properties in 2004, Matthew served as a commercial broker with Grubb & Ellis in Los Angeles where he specialized in investment sales and leasing. He has also worked in the technology industry for Shopzilla.com in Los Angeles, and the snowboard industry for Silence Snowboards in Carlsbad, CA. Matthew took a two-year break from Westcore to run multifamily operations for ColRich, a San Diego based family business that owns 15,000 units throughout the U.S., before returning back to Westcore. Matthew received a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a MBA from the University of Southern California. He served on the Board of Trustees for The Children’s School for five years, including serving as President of the Board for two years. He remains actively involved with the school.
