Matt Williamson

Matt Williamson is Vice President of Development at Sovereign Properties where he is responsible for all aspects of the development process including land acquisition, planning and design, securing entitlement approvals and building permits, budgeting, underwriting, construction reporting, project close-out, and leasing support. In addition, Matt is responsible for providing development direction and oversight for both Sovereign’s acquisition of new properties and its existing portfolio. Prior to joining Sovereign, Matt spent 7 years in a development position for WeWork, where he provided leadership and management for the development of properties for WeLive, WeWork’s venture into shared living. After the completion of WeLive’s first two locations in New York and Arlington, VA, Matt oversaw WeLive ground-up projects in Seattle and Austin, as well as evaluated numerous development opportunities nationwide. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Syracuse University, and is a licensed architect in the State of New York.
