Bio
Matt Steffen is a Managing Director for JLL Capital Markets, providing bespoke capital solutions to entrepreneurial and institutional multifamily investors. As a partner of the Harrington/Steffen Team, Matt is responsible for originating and structuring debt and equity for the acquisition, refinance or recapitalization of apartment communities nationwide. By leveraging JLL's direct Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD and Bridge lending capabilities, as well as Life Company, Bank, CMBS, Debt Fund and Private Equity relationships, the Harrington/Steffen Team is able to effectively source and structure capital to maximize their client's returns. In the past two years alone, the Team has closed over $1 billion in financing and is recognized as an industry leader.
Experience Prior to joining JLL, Matt served in a similar capacity at Walker & Dunlop. In addition to commercial real estate finance, Matt has extensive commercial real estate appraisal experience as a former Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Arizona, Nevada and Texas. In that capacity, Matt served as a Valuation Services Director at Colliers International Valuation & Advisory Services, where he led a team focused on multifamily valuation services throughout the Southwest region. In this role, he provided analysis and valuation on over $3 billion of commercial real estate and was recognized as a national top producer.
Education and Affiliations Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from the California Maritime Academy at California State University (Vallejo), as well as a professional graduate-level certificate in Principles of Finance through Harvard University.
