Bio
Matt Newton, Senior Director, is responsible for nationwide loan originations and is based out of Walker & Dunlop’s Boston office. Mr. Newton specializes in multifamily loans sourced primarily through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the company’s proprietary bridge lending program. Mr. Newton joined Walker & Dunlop in 2013 as an analyst in the servicing department where he was responsible for managing a $2.75 billion portfolio. Later, in 2014, Mr. Newton transitioned into a production analyst role and has since held several positions within the real estate finance division of Walker & Dunlop. Throughout his career, Mr. Newton has participated in the origination and underwriting of over $3 billion in transactions and has experience with conventional multifamily, manufactured, senior, student, and affordable housing. Mr. Newton graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Plymouth State University and continued his education at Boston University, obtaining a graduate certificate in real estate finance. Beyond the company, Mr. Newton is involved in the Emerging Leaders Committee of Boston’s Real Estate Finance Association.
