Matt Kroger has over 15 years of experience in the San Francisco Bay Area commercial real estate industry specializing in the sale of institutional multifamily properties and development sites. He is an Executive Vice President for CBRE’s San Francisco office, serving as co-head of CBRE’s Bay Area Multifamily Institutional Properties Group.
Matt’s Bay Area investment sales experience includes the sale or acquisition of assets and development sites representing nearly eight million square feet of commercial space and nearly 10,000 residential units.
Noteworthy transactions include the 2017 brokerage of the 10.5-acre Middlefield Portfolio, a future 1,000+ unit residential redevelopment site adjacent to the East Whisman VTA Station in Mountain View, the 2012 sale of 467-unit, 3.15-acre Daggett Place development site in San Francisco (Winner of Best Bay Area Land Deal, 2012 Business Times Real Estate Deals of the Year), the 2013 sale of over 7 acres of land in San Francisco entitled for over 700 residential units (Finalist of the Best Bay Area Land Deal, 2013 Business Times Real Estate Deals of the Year), and the 2014 sale of the Block 40 development site in Mission Bay, San Francisco, representing 700,000 buildable square feet.
Matt brokered the 2014 purchase of the 400,000-square-foot vacant historic Sears building in downtown Oakland, which won Best East Bay Office Investment Sale in the 2014 Business Times Real Estate Deals of the Year, as well as the subsequent sale of the Sears Building to Uber in 2015, which won the San Francisco Business Times 2015 Overall Deal of the Year as well as the 2015 NAIOP Best East Bay Investment Transaction of the Year. In 2015 Matt also brokered the assemblage of the 2100 Telegraph development site in downtown Oakland, a full-block project to include nearly one million square feet of office and over 500 units of residential development.
A Bay Area native, Matt resides in Orinda with his wife and four children. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee with a degree in Business.
