Bio
Matt leads a private equity advisory practice focused on advising sponsors and their portfolio companies. He specializes in devising and implementing measurable real estate strategies to improve operating performance, cash flow and EBITDA. He also advises sponsors on capital market strategies including sale leasebacks and net lease investment sales. He joined CBRE in 2002.
Under Matt’s leadership, the practice delivers CBRE’s best-of-class execution and real estate consulting to clients resulting in over $250 million of annual savings and enterprise value creation exceeding $2 billion.
Matt’s background includes developing opportunity assessments, benchmarking analysis, portfolio optimization plans, headquarters strategies and feasibility analyses, M&A due diligence, build-to-suit developments, acquisitions, dispositions, and capital market strategies throughout the U.S. and globally.
With a depth of experience in large, complex real estate transactions and restructurings including headquarters projects totaling 3 million sq. ft., Matt and his partners have completed hundreds of real estate transactions representing more than 40 million sq. ft. His experience also includes cost reduction outsourcing programs for facilities management, project management and transaction services.
Matt was previously a Managing Director with CBRE in Chicago, Vice President in Boston, and completes transactions in the New York Tri-State.
Prior to CBRE, Matt served as Treasurer and a Board of Directors member of a private equity backed company. Matt volunteers at an assisted living community, and coaches youth sports.
