Bio

Matt Ballard joined the Dallas CBRE Capital Markets team in October 2010.  Since then, he has executed the origination, structuring and closing of more than 60 transactions with an emphasis on institutional quality assets, valued at more than $1.3 billion.

Prior to joining Capital Markets, Matt was a member of the CBRE GCS team contracted to Hudson Americas, LLC,—the asset management arm of Lone Star Funds.  While at Hudson, he focused on strategic asset management of their REO asset portfolio including office, industrial, retail and residential development and golf/resort properties.  These efforts focused on repositioning foreclosed assets for optimal sale, analysis of commercial bank real estate portfolios, and collateral underwriting for acquisition and disposition of dark real estate portfolios.

Matt also spent over six years with L&B Realty Advisors, a boutique pension fund advisor, as Associate Director.  Focused on asset management and acquisitions, he was responsible for originating and underwriting real estate acquisitions valuing over $300 million.  Additional responsibilities included direction of all due diligence and underwriting, negotiation of all contracts, legal and loan documentation, oversight of environmental and engineering reviews, and initiating and developing successful business relationships with lenders, developers and joint venture equity partners.

Matt and his CBRE Capital Markets team represent primarily institutional clients, including some of the top pension fund and private equity fund investors in the country.  Recent notable transactions include the Preferred Freezer Portfolio ($120 million), Park Central 7,8,9 ($59 million), Timber Creek Crossing ($45 million), Greenway Commons ($33 million) and Louetta Central ($17 million).
