Marty Barkan is recognized as a leading commercial real estate professional in the Los Angeles area where he has been active as a broker and consultant for over 25 years. As First Vice President at CBRE, Barkan focuses on Investment Property Sales and Leasing, with a focus in Office & Mixed-Use properties.  Barkan's clients include major real estate investors, entrepreneurial owner-operators & corporate owner-users. Hands on experience as an investment sponsor, owner-operator, and appraiser contribute tremendously to his work as a Commercial Real Estate broker and consultant.  Marty Barkan has personally closed lease and sale transactions and undertaken advisory and valuation assignments worth over $2.5 Billion in the aggregate. 

Prior to joining CBRE, Marty Barkan served as Senior Vice President for First Property Realty Corporation in Beverly Hills, and prior to that Barkan was a Senior Vice President for Grubb & Ellis. Barkan maintains a high profile in the Greater Los Angeles market where he has been recognized with multiple achievement awards for his work as a broker. Marty began his career with James Felt Realty Services/ Grubb & Ellis in New York City and worked for New York based Douglas Elliman as a Los Angeles based member of the valuation and consulting group. 

Barkan has been a Trusted Name in Commercial Real Estate since 1936.

Marty Barkan values his  family legacy and deep roots in commercial real estate that date back to the 1930's.  His late father and mentor in the business was a distinguished member of the New York real estate community during a career that spanned 61 years.  Marty began learning the business at a young age and his broad-based real estate experience continues to be a great benefit to his clients.  Marty, his brother and their late father have collectively logged over 130 years of real estate experience.

Mr. Barkan holds the highly regarded CRE designation from The Counselors of Real Estate, an international real estate advisory organization as well as the CCIM designation from the Certified Commercial Investment Institute.  Marty Barkan has been an instructor on the UCLA Extension's Business and Management faculty and has been a guest speaker at UCLA, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and Counselor of Real Estate sponsored events. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and active with numerous community and charitable organizations.
