Bio

Mark Portner joined Shorenstein in 1999. As Executive Vice President of Capital Formation, he leads the company’s equity capital raising activities and oversees and manages the company’s market positioning. Mr. Portner previously served as the Managing Director of Investments Group East overseeing the Eastern United States Investment Group which includes Capital Transactions, Asset Management, Leasing, and Development. Mr. Portner participates in the strategic direction of the company as a member of its executive committee and in the company’s investment activities as a member of its investment committee. Mr. Portner is a member of the Urban Land Institute. Prior to joining Shorenstein, Mr. Portner was a vice president at Carey Winston Company in Washington, D.C. where he specialized in the disposition of distressed loans. Mr. Portner graduated from University of Richmond with a B.S., and from Columbia University with an M.B.A.
