Bio
Maria Masi is Senior Vice President of Development at Brookfield Properties’ development group, responsible for leading the New York multifamily development team and overseeing more than $3B in residential and mixed-use development projects.
Maria has over 15 years of experience developing large scale urban residential and mixed-use, mixed-income projects. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2015, Maria held senior development roles at New York development firms Rose Associates Inc., Avalon Bay Communities and Forest City Ratner Companies where she led complex real estate projects and oversaw development teams working on some of these companies’ largest developments. In these roles, she managed all phases of the development process, including transaction due diligence, site acquisition, design, finance, entitlements, construction, marketing and lease up.
Maria received a Master in Real Estate and Urban Development from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a CPA degree from the School of Economic Sciences of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. She studied Architecture at the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires, School of Architecture, Design and Urbanism. Maria proudly serves in the Board of Directors of WIN (Women in need), the largest provider of shelter and supportive housing for homeless families in New York City. Maria is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
