Marc E Sacks

Marc Sacks is chief executive officer in Mesirow Financial's Private Equity group and a member of the Private Equity investment committee. He is responsible for all aspects of the group's primary partnership commitments, secondary investments and co-investments. Additionally, as a member of the board of directors for Mesirow Financial, he contributes to developing and overseeing the strategic direction of the firm.Marc has more than 27 years of experience and has participated in the approval of investment commitments to more than 300 U.S. and European private equity partnerships, has served as a member of the investor advisory boards of 12 private equity investment firms and has developed relationships with a multitude of top-tier private equity managers in the U.S. and Europe.Prior to joining Mesirow Financial in 2004, Marc was a senior partner for 11 years at Adams Street Partners, where he was active in all aspects of the firm's private equity partnership investment activities. Before that, he served as program manager of private investments for the IBM Pension fund.Marc is a member of the National Venture Capital Association and the Illinois Venture Capital Association. He earned a BA from Queens College and an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
