Bio

Kenneth L. Zakin is a member of Newmark's Capital Markets group and a leader of its corporate advisory, net lease and sale leaseback practices. He also spearheads its national 1031 exchange platform. He has been a Senior Managing Director since joining the company in 2003. His diverse industry background includes prior tenures with Insignia/ESG (1997-2003) and Lehman Brothers (1985-1997).

 

Zakin is a transaction specialist with particular expertise in connection with the sale, sale leaseback, financing, recapitalization and structuring of real estate transactions nationally and globally and has completed more than $5.0 billion in sale, equity/debt, advisory and IRC §1031 exchange transactions. Notably, he has represented clients such as Aegon USA Realty Advisors, Cameron International, CenterPoint Realty Trust, Citigroup, CSRA, National Retail Properties, Pace University, Quantum Corporation, Sandridge Energy and Transamerica Corporation in connection with transactions involving corporate-owned facilities, as well as individual assets and portfolios of net leased properties in the United States and Europe. He has provided advisory services to domestic and international companies in connection with the valuation of owned assets and strategies involving sale leaseback, monetization and financial structures, as well as build-to-suit financing transactions.
