Ken Shields has been associated with Hamilton Partners since 2004. He has had 25 years of experience in commercial property management starting with Pentalon Corporation in 1989. Since joining Hamilton Partners, Ken heads a full-service, professional, knowledgeable staff, overseeing all property management operations for the Hamilton Partners Salt Lake City portfolio. Ken’s philosophy of professional property management, “It can’t be done from a desk. Managers have to spend a lot of time with each building—build tenant relationships and know the building inside out. When the job is done right, the operation of the building should be transparent, enabling the Tenants of the building to focus on growing their businesses.”
Representative Experience
California Business Park, Building 1 – Ken was a major contributor to the development, design and construction of the California Business Park building #1. A 144,561 total square foot building that features super flat floors, with 30 foot clear height ceilings and 20 exterior dock doors. The building was designed for warehouse or light manufacturing use. When completed, Mr. Shields was the asset manager of the building.
222 Main, Salt Lake City, UT – Ken was an integral part of all facets of the development and construction for this Gold LEED certified, 460,000 square foot, high-rise office building in downtown Salt Lake City. The project is adjacent to a LRT Station and features a mix of public and private funds. Upon completion of the construction, Mr. Shields was, and continues to be, the asset manager of the building.
Boston Building Renovation, Salt Lake City, UT – Ken oversaw the renovation of an 11-story, historic office building which included environmental remediation, historical landmark commission involvement. He managed the building until 2008.
Newhouse Building, Salt Lake City, UT – Ken was the asset manager of the 100-year old historic building, while completing infrastructure upgrades including mechanical and elevator remodel. Hamilton Partners continues to own and manage on behalf of a joint venture partnership.
Broadway Centre, Salt Lake City, UT – Ken was the asset manager of the Broadway Centre when Hamilton Partners negotiated the purchase of the 250,000 square foot office building. He continued to manage the building on behalf of a joint venture partnership after completion of the sale until 2008.
