Bio

As Chief Development Strategist of Steiner + Associates, Justin Leyda is responsible for setting the vision for new projects and guiding Steiner’s principled development approach. His work actively incorporates the principles of New Urbanism, acknowledges the importance of public spaces and the pedestrian experience, and reflects a philosophy of shared responsibility for planned public space between the private and public sectors. He brings a unique mix of management consulting, and strategic planning experience, with demonstrated expertise in planning and implementing complex mixed-use projects. Justin joined Steiner + Associates in 2005 as a Development Manager. He was named Vice President of Development in 2013, and was subsequently named Chief Development Strategist in 2018. During his time with the company, he has managed and advised on the development of over $1 billion worth of mixed-use projects—a portfolio of work encompassing over 4 million square feet of development. He was instrumental in the pre-development, zoning, and entitlements of Liberty Center in Cincinnati, OH; and has lead the master planning and design process of numerous expansions to the iconic Easton Town Center in Columbus, OH. Prior to Joining Steiner + Associates, Justin served as an analyst and consultant with the specialized real estate advisory group of international design firm Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum (HOK) in Washington, D.C. He completed projects for numerous Fortune 100 corporations as well as state and federal agencies.
