Bio
Joseph Platt is a Managing Director of Capital Markets based out of Kansas City, MO. In his role, he is responsible for debt origination and equity financing for private and public real estate owners through relationships with a variety of capital sources which include insurance companies, investment banks, governmental agencies, commercial banks, and credit institutions. Mr. Platt brings nearly 30 years of commercial real estate experience to Walker & Dunlop. He has extensive experience in the origination, structuring, placement, and closing of various real estate product types, including industrial, retail, multifamily, office, hospitality, medical office, and seniors housing properties. Capital structures closed include permanent financing, mezzanine, equity placement, and bridge and construction financing.
Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Platt worked as a senior vice president at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital for almost 20 years, where he was consistently among the firm’s top producers. Before joining Grandbridge, he was a vice president with RBS Greenwich Capital and Nomura Securities in Chicago. Mr. Platt began his career as an analyst with Baird & Warner Real Estate Capital (now Northmarq) in Chicago.
Mr. Platt earned his bachelor’s degree in real estate finance from the University of Arizona.
