Bio
Co-Founder and Chairman Jon Runstad co-founded Wright Runstad & Company in 1972. Currently, he is responsible for the direction and general management of the company and is actively involved in major aspects of each project in development and major management issues for existing properties. Jon’s career in real estate development spans over 50 years. Before co-founding Wright Runstad & Company, he was a building economist with the Ministry of Public Building Works in London and a project manager developing properties with Cabot, Cabot & Forbes in Boston. Jon is a member of several organizations, including the Real Estate Forum and the Urban Land Institute. Jon served as a member and President of the Board of Regents of the University of Washington, member and President of Downtown Seattle Association, and long-time Seattle Symphony Board member. He remains involved in many ways and currently serves as a director of the University of Washington Foundation and as a member of the Board of Rowing Stewards. The Runstad Department of Real Estate Studies in the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington is named in honor of Jon and his wife Judy, a prominent land use attorney. Jon earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction at the University of Washington.
