Bio
John Mak recently joined G4 in 2019 and plays a key role in the firm's origination and asset management process. Mr. Mak is also a key counterpart to G4's underwriting team. Prior to joining G4, Mr. Mak was an Assistant Vice President at Bank of China's Commercial Real Estate team where he assisted in the risk analysis and underwriting of over $2bn CRE financing opportunities with a key focus on U.S. gateway cities including NYC, LA and Chicago. During that time, Mr. Mak also played a key role in managing the Bank of China's CRE portfolio of over $10bn in loan commitments across all core asset classes. In addition to this banking experience, Mr. Mak was a Senior Associate in KPMG's Real Estate Advisory practice, where he was responsible for modeling complex waterfall structures for over $2bn of conduit, agency and single asset CMBS transactions. Mr. Mak graduated from the NYU Stern School of Business with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting and also holds a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
