Bio
John Long is one of the founding directors of South City Partners. Along with Mark Randall, John is primarily responsible for setting the overall direction of the company, identifying new development opportunities and perhaps most importantly, building and supporting a great team of dedicated, passionate and fun loving development professionals. Other responsibilities include the financing and structuring of development opportunities. Prior to South City John spent ten years with Novare Group, one of the leading condominium and mixed-use developers in the southeast. As chief investment officer, Mr. Long was responsible, either directly and/or as chief investment officer, for the design, development, financing and sale of more than 6,000 multi-family units across scores of projects valued at more than $2 billion. Projects ranged in size from a couple of million dollars to more than $200 million. While at Novare, Mr. Long also led the successful acquisition and/or development of more than 1.1 million square feet of class A, high rise office, and 300,000 square feet of urban, street-front retail. Prior to joining Novare Group, Mr. Long enjoyed a successful career with Finova Realty Capital and, prior to that, Belgravia Capital in the mortgage banking business. Mr. Long graduated from Georgia Tech in 1985 in Industrial Systems Engineering.
