John G. joined NY Urban Servicing Co. Inc. in 1980 when he along with Frank Harvey purchased New York Urban Servicing Co., Inc. Prior to NY Urban John was responsible for new loan originations as well as managing a team of loan officers handling troubled loans and foreclosures throughout the country and Puerto Rico for Chase Manhattan Bank, and was Senior Vice President, at in charge of acquisitions and finance. Kimco was one of the top ten largest shopping center owners in the country and is now a very successful REIT. In 1997, Mr. Lama and the other key investors started Bridge Funding, a short term lending company and also purchased a SBIC company. In 2006, Mr. Lama sold his interest in Bridge Funding and the SBIC and along with his sons, formed NY Urban Funding, a Bridge and Mezzanine lending platform. To date, NY UrbanFunding has closed over 60 loans totaling in excess of $100 million in the tri-state area.
