John D Hutchinson

John Hutchinson is President, Central and Southwestern U.S. of Trez Capital. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the company's central and southwestern commercial real estate finance business. As a member of our Executive Committee, he is one of two senior professionals responsible for overseeing the day-to-day business operations and overall corporate strategies for the firm. Under John's leadership, Trez Capital's Dallas regional office has financed more than $1.7 billion in real estate projects in the U.S. since 2011.

Prior to joining Trez Capital, John spent nearly 20 years in the home building business. For the majority of that time, he served as President of the Dallas Division of The Ryland Group, Inc., a large developer, builder and marketer of residential housing in the United States. While at Ryland, John oversaw the construction of more than 11,000 homes and the development of more than 5,000 residential lots.

Before entering the home building business, John was engaged in the full-time practice of law in the Hughes & Luce, LLP law firm in Dallas, which subsequently merged into the national law firm of K&L Gates, LLP, and today is the Dykema Law Firm.
