Bio
John has served as the Chief Investment Officer since the company’s inception in January 2018. He led establishment of the company’s underwriting process and standards. John is responsible for developing and implementing the company’s investment strategy and oversees due diligence, acquisitions and development. John is a founding member of ReNew and a member of its governing boards.
Prior to his service with ReNew, John served Welltower in various capacities from 2002 to 2017. Most recently as the Senior Vice President – Business Development – Senior Housing, he was primarily responsible for managing current relationships, as well as developing new relationships and identifying and structuring new investment opportunities to help drive the growth of the company. He led the underwriting team from 2012 to 2015, a key growth period for the company, and was instrumental in structuring the first RIDEA-compliant transaction in the senior housing space in 2010, which helped Welltower grow by over $25 billion from 2010 to 2017.
John began his career as an Analyst with Dana Commercial Credit, a diversified finance and leasing company, where he worked from 1998 to 2002.
He continues to be very active in industry associations including the American Senior Housing Association, Argentum and National Investment Center (NIC).
John holds a BBA from the University of Toledo and MBA from Bowling Green State University.
