Bio

In 2015, Mr. Freeman joined Dewberry Group as Controller, overseeing corporate accounting, financial reporting, cash management, tax strategy, financing and human resources; within a year, he was promoted to Director of Finance and, thereafter took on the role of Director of Leasing. In 2020, Mr. Freeman was promoted to Executive Vice President, Finance. A 2005 graduate of Auburn University with a master’s degree in accounting, Mr. Freeman began his career in Birmingham, Alabama, as an auditor with the global accounting firm Ernst & Young. He later transferred to Houston, Texas, where he worked in a variety of industries, including Real Estate, Construction, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing and Distribution, before returning to Atlanta in 2008 to accept a job with Morgan Stanley’s Real Estate Investing group as a Fund Controller. In 2012, when State Street acquired his group, Mr. Freeman was retained to manage a team in charge of fund accounting and investor reporting for a $6 billion global real estate fund. Today, in addition to volunteering for multiple organizations in the greater Atlanta area, Mr. Freeman serves as the Finance Chairman for the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of DeKalb County.
