Bio
An attorney by training, John Filipos specializes in negotiating retail and office space leases on behalf of both landlords and tenants. He has represented hundreds of Metropolitan Washington, DC area firms and developers, providing a comprehensive range of services necessary to satisfy their requirements, including merchandising, marketing and leasing of urban mixed-use office and retail projects as well as tenant representation for retail clients including market research, strategic planning, and site selection services. Mr. Filipos joined CBRE as a result of the July 2003 merger with Insignia/ESG, where he began working in 1987.
Prior to Insignia/ESG, Mr. Filipos worked for the investment banking firm of Kidder, Peabody & Company, Inc., in its Washington, DC office. In this capacity, he analyzed tax-favored investments, including real estate limited partnerships, for the purpose of raising capital to fund various commercial real estate properties. His financial background in the investment banking industry provides a sound base for working with landlords and tenants.
