John Cavin

The fine art of negotiation is just one of the many skills John brings to the table as the Director of Real Estate for Capital Growth Buchalter. He supports opportunities for the firm by directing and coordinating the selection and purchase of various retail, medical and multi-family development sites across the country; he is known best for his skills in location intelligence, negotiations, and valuations. Prior to joining the CGB team, John served with CBRE (Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis), The Shopping Center Group and Prudential CRES. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, John grew up in several cities across the South. Inspired by his family’s business ventures, owning several apartment complexes in Jacksonville, Florida, John decided to study real estate and finance, earning his bachelor’s degree in real estate finance at Florida State University. In his free time, John enjoys volunteer coaching with a basketball program for at-risk youth. He also loves playing golf and spending time with his family.
