John Caputo

John Caputo holds the position of Director of Capital Markets at Spinoso Real Estate Group. With 28+ years of experience in the Commercial Backed Securites space, John is responsible for all aspects relating to Capital Markets and CMBS. John’s background includes work as an originator, underwriter, quantitative analyst and trader, both of securities and derivatives. Prior to joining Spinoso Real Estate Group, John was a Portfolio Manager for Metacapital Management. There he spent over three years analyzing the Retail Mall sector for an eventual derivative trade in the space. In addition, he was a Directing Certificate Holder on a legacy CMBS transaction collateralized by a regional shopping mall and took an active role in supervising the management of the property. Previous employment includes Salomon Brothers, Citigroup and Societe Generale. In addition to his CMBS concentration, he has many diverse interests that have led to his operating various businesses in the past, including a real estate investment company, car dealership and a commercial/charter fishing company. Finally, he is Co-Founder and Chairman of DNX Biopharmaceuticals which has most recently collaborated with the Lung Cancer Initiative at Johnson and Johnson. John has a B.A. in Economics from State University of New York at Stony Brook and is currently pursuing a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts. He is an active member of ICSC and holds a CRRP designation.
