John J Bishar

Mr. Bishar is responsible for all legal activities relating to Arbor's business, including corporate matters, litigation, employment law, regulatory affairs and all other legal issues. He is responsible for managing Arbor's outside legal counsel relationships. In addition to his duties as General Counsel, Mr. Bishar served as a director on the board of Arbor Realty Trust from 2007 to 2012, at which time he was named, and currently serves, as Corporate Secretary.

Mr. Bishar brings more than 40 years of legal expertise to the Arbor companies. He has spent significant parts of his career in both private practice and as general counsel for institutions. He had been a partner in the law firm of Cullen and Dykman LLP, serving as Managing Partner for 10 years and as a member of the firm's executive committee. Mr. Bishar has also served as General Counsel of National Grid U.S.A., one of the largest distributors of electricity and natural gas in the Northeast U.S., KeySpan Corporation, a predecessor to National Grid, and Long Island Trust Company.

Mr. Bishar is a graduate of Georgetown University and Fordham University School of Law. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Long Island YMCA and on the Board of Governors or Touro Law School.
